Our Customer, a telecom major specializes in research and development (R&D), production and marketing of communications equipment, providing customized network solutions for telecom carriers in fixed, mobile and data communications networks.

The Background

CIBER being a Technology partner got an opportunity to work closely with our customer to develop and test the Soft Switch.

The Technology

Soft Switch (software switch) is a generic term for an open application program interface software used to bridge a public switched telephone network and Voice over Internet Protocol by separating the call control functions of a phone call from the media gateway (transport layer).

The Task

The task of engineers from CIBER was to participate actively in the design, development and testing of the Soft Switch.
